The one I got alot in America ‘You speak so well…’ I didn’t know what that meant until I recounted to a black colleague with whom I worked and she told me its racist and meant ‘you font sound black"…That was 20 years ago. Had I known. We all sound that way up in Canada and perhaps if the US government spent more on education in Black areas as they did elsewhere, everyone would “speak well.” So infuriating!
