Finding solace in your ‘Mom Cave’ without guilt

I must confess, there are days when, as a mother, I long to simply curl up and return to the comfort of my bed. However, this is far from the reality I live in. A few years ago, I was compelled to make a decision that some might label as selfish. As a woman, a mother, and a partner, I chose to prioritize my well-being to preserve my mental health. It appears that we, as women, often bear the bulk of societal expectations, from the moment we wake — deciding on breakfast, checking if the socks are still in the dryer, or if that cherished sweater is ready to wear.

We ponder over what to pack for school lunches, which extracurricular activities are scheduled, what to prepare for dinner, and the list perpetually extends.

There was a day, very recently, when I found myself withdrawing to my home office…
