Indeed, Philomena, there are some advantages. I also have three people with whom I text - my older brother being one as he is afar. And yes it allows for us to keep in touch. My challenge are the incessant texters who refuse to call. They see nothing wrong with using this as the sole form of communication. I like the idea of no notifications / controlled. I do that as well. I expect I like to also fully convey my thoughts in longer spoken form. :)
