I think it is why there are so many awkward kids out there who cannot socialize normally. It makes me sad. I try to teach my kids how to hold a conversation with adults as well as ask people how they are doing. And listen. It is one of the things random adults we know commend me about my boys. Open doors for women, ask our local cashier how she is etc.,. Its part of villagizing.
